Performing
I believe I possess many extra assets when it comes to performing on top of this I have many skills and hobbies in different areas.
Firstly besides having a long list of productions and show cases on my portfolio I also possess a verity of unique performing skills. For example in music I have attended piano classes since the age of 8 and I’m dedicated to this study, from this I learned how to read and write music. I have also played guitar and ukulele for many years so am experienced with many instruments. Addition to this i have been attending Thurston choir for the last 5 years and was given the honour 2 years ago to co-manage the choir. over these years 5 years I accomplished how to read scores so I’m experienced with reading music. Furthermore I’ve work with mixing and creating music on Garage Band so I would have knowledge in the aria if I needed to chance a piece of music for a performance.
Fitness levels/ Team
I am confidence that I’m bringing a high fitness level to the college as I have always strived to do sport being a part of many clubs such as Gymnastics, cheerleading, basketball, rounder’s and the Cockfield netball team. Addition to these i have been part of CKA (Combat Kickboxing Academy) from the age of five competing in regional finals, I’ve also swam for England under 16s and passed my rooky life guard. Being a part of these teams have made me gain a true team spirit and has enabled me to work with new people. In High school I was designated sports captain this meant i was responsible for sports days and competitions and made me a grate team leader. I was also chosen to be head girl/prefect for performing arts and would attend meetings regularly to organise show cases and got to work with lighting. This gave me the privilege to work with the younger years and coach them.
Extra
Alongside the experience and skills previously mentioned I have also volunteered for the company Community Workshop, Who aims to provide a working and learning environment for individuals who suffer from learning difficulties and other disabilities. While volunteering I would hold singing and dance lessons with the individuals attending the workshop. Moreover I have a lot of experience with sewing with working with a machine from home.
Improvements
During all these past experiences there are still areas I would like to work on and learn, for instance I have never experienced any tap dance before. This dance skill is something I am really interested and exited to learn at my time at Conservatoire EAST. Also building skills with my writing and study’s for example going into more detail about musicals and directing skills.
Spelling, punctuation and grammar (SPAG) – ‘variety’ instead of ‘verity’, ‘area’ instead of ‘aria’, ‘confident’ instead of ‘confidence’, ‘Rookie’ instead of ‘Rooky’, ‘great’ instead of ‘grate’, ‘studies’ instead of ‘study’s’. This is another good piece of writing Leah, you have identified lots of areas that will be useful to you whilst on the course. You could have afford to go into further detail on the areas you would like to improve. Where would you like to be with these skills by the end of your time at Conservatoire East?
