OVERVIEW OF THIS COMMISSION
You will be auditioning for a part in any one of the four productions making up the Summer Season throughout the week of 4th March in the Season rehearsal slot 3pm – 5pm.
Production 1 ‘The Railway Children’ by Edith Nesbit adapted for the stage by Mike Kenny directed by Poppy Stevens and Bridie Horne
Production 2 ‘Dead Famous’ by Erica Dupuy and directed by Erica Dupuy
Production 3 ‘Cabaret’ by Kander (music), Ebb (lyrics) & Masteroff (book) directed by Hannah Schofield
Production 4 Individual media projects collaborating with them for their own FMP work
The Directors will simultaneously audition all students and you will be cast by them in one of their productions. Once cast, you will rehearse with your director in the Season rehearsals in order to prepare your production for public performance. If you are cast in Production 4 you may be used in out of Season times but you cannot be used during Maths / English sessions. You will then use Season time to do your WordPress work.
In addition to practical rehearsals you will ALSO be required to carried out research as well as contribute to the non-performance aspect of this production, through costume, set, props, music editing, marketing etc. Your production will require a lot of work and effort and you need to fully understand not only the production and performance skills, which are relevant and required but also the content and context.
You MUST maintain ongoing evidence of the research, practical skills, evaluation and reflection you are undertaking on the relevant WordPress site pages and blogs.
You must ALSO identify and show your understanding of the context in which your production is being developed, rehearsed and performed on your relevant WordPress site page.
This scenario is clear with deadline dates and vocational context for three productions of ‘The Railway Children’, Murder mystery and ‘Cabaret’. Unit details are accurate.
NOTES: Murder mystery is now titled ‘Dead Famous’, and ‘The Railway Children’ will now be performed on 4 nights, the additional night is Wednesday 8th May.
