You need to show how the information / knowledge you discover is being used, or not used, in your essay. (Some of it might be relevant, some of it might be interesting but not relevant for the focus of the essay)

What dose this job role involve, what line of work is it?

  • Bookers – are people that higher you and are part of you agency

  • First type of model is a “high fashion” model; this is the most famous role as you are co-operating with designers on runway shows. They also advertising for fashion magazines spoke models products and the well known “Cover Girls or boys” who wow the front pages of elite magazines.
  • The second type of modeling is known as Commercial Modeling, this includes advertisements for everyday products, restaurants, or big chain stores, or anything on this relevant chain. These photos are found in lighter magazines such as Good Housekeeping, People Magazine. Opportunities from commercial modeling can lead you to On-line sites for major chain stores Topshop, Miss Guided and many other high street brands.
  • The third type of modeling is Local Modeling. Models in this line of work will do shoots for photographers selling them online for stock inventory. Sometimes the shots will be for smaller businesses or fashion shows for a variety of events, such as a bridal fair or car shows. Models also work for national brands in need of local talent to promote their products i.e. energy drinks at, military bases, or your local village company’s.

  • Being polite and friendly to someone doesn’t hurt, the nicer you are the more people will want to work with you and will most likely ask you back. By talking to people this will create a network and a stream of people in the industry that can pass on your name. Further more you are representing someone else’s company so you have a reputation to uphold as they have provided you with the opportunity of work.

 

What progression opportunities might be available in this line of work?

  • There can be big lines of work within this industry as you build your self a network of people and contacts, this could take you anywhere from big modeling shoots, to getting you acting work on TV by being spotted by a Booker. After all is a way of making money.

 

How are you using the knowledge and information you already know?

  • By the knowledge of learning dance you lean to repeat your moves exactly the same way each time, this can be applied into modeling as you need to be able to go state back to the photographers desired position.

What dose this job role involve, what line of work is it?

  • You doing work all round the world so you have to be prepared to move and relocate.
  • You can be a dancer so your not particularly any character you’re more in the shows for dance brakes.
  • There is also the job of being a face character, this means you are playing a role of a character how doesn’t require a mask. There for there are high standers for these actors as they have to look, sound and portray the princes and princesses to the Disney standard.
  • There is also the job of being a fur character, this means you are in a costume. Although this means you don’t have to worry about looking like your role there are still requirements of you.   • You have to be performing in the best possible manner with the least waste of time and effort; due to the amount of people you have to see in a day (172 people per hour).

Professionalism-

  • You need to be professional and keep up there standard of work, one reason for this is the opportunity you have ben given to work for Disney is phenomenal however is your not professional your job can easily be presented to another actress.
  • The aria you are working in, includes working with small children and thousands of people every day. Sometimes the visitors will molest and humiliate the characters. People are found making absence gestures like touching the characters in inappropriate places and making crude remarks especially to the princesses. People also try to de-bunk the idea of “magic”. However although this is all very bad you have to make sure to keep the other costumers happy, so swerve the situation.

Organisation- 

  • for you audition bring everything in a plastic wallet so its all there and prepared.
  • never spot in and audition always go full out so they can see your potential.
  • study what your going for/ no what you want, there for if the casting director asked you a question you may no the answer

What progression opportunities might be available in this line of work?

  • The life of a Disney princess really varies. A lot of girls take themselves out before casting has to. People go on to work in musical theater at local playhouses or be teachers or some ex-princesses do princess parties and start up businesses. Some never want to leave; as soon as they get disapproved, they just want to become a princess trainer for Disney so they still get to be part of the magic.
  • There are many Disney parks this means one park may want to send you to another park.
  • Working thought Disney/Disney Cruise this can give you opportunity the work on other cruise lines. If you are polite and make new friends your name can be passed around creating a network witch can give you work

  1. Leah, whilst you have included research about the two guest speakers you have chosen to base your essay on, you have not included any information about the other speakers. You have included research from other sources but not referenced this all properly. Ensure you are including all of the research you have taken. You could have gone further with your research and used a wider range of resources including books or journals. The less research you do the poorer the content of the work you are able to do, whether this is academic in the form of an essay or practical when it feeds into the rehearsal process. Please make sure in future you are using a wide variety of resources within your research.
